If you follow the NBA at all, you will find out that several teams are guilty of drafting 7 footers from Eastern European countries (and even the US) for several reasons:
1. They give you another 6 fouls to use just in case your starting center falters early.
2. They are comedic relief because they awkwardly block shots and get posterized on the regular (also see: Shawn Bradley, Greg Ostertag, Robert Swift)
3. They’re lottery picks and are given ludicrous amounts of money to warm your bench.
